Tenant leaders gathered at the Black Workers & Wellness Center for October’s Homes For All DC Circle, reflecting on how to move from ideas into actions that land. The group focused on care, strategy, and sustainable organizing—building power one building at a time.
Tenant leaders reflect on what makes an action strategic — and sustainable.

In October, our Homes For All DC Circle gathered at the Black Workers & Wellness Center for a grounding brunch and a deep conversation on Transformative Base-Building — exploring what it truly takes to move from ideas into actions that land. Tenant leaders from several associations came together to slow down and unpack what makes an action strategic: clarifying purpose, mapping logistics, identifying who must be involved, and creating space for reflection afterward. Members shared real-life experiences of powerful moments that sometimes struggled in follow-through — and celebrated lessons that strengthen sustainability, care, and longevity in the work.
As we continue to center care in how we organize, we are building power one building at a time — not rushing the process but deepening it. Many shared that this circle was one of the most meaningful and grounding sessions yet, offering a clearer pathway forward for collaboration and accountability. If you couldn’t join us in October, we hope to see you at the next Homes For All DC Circle. Your voice, your lived experience, and your insight matter in shaping this movement.
