From the Streets to the Rooftops: The Mythology of Urban Poverty

This workshop will lay bare and challenge myths about poverty, people of color, and people with low incomes.Right_to_the_city.jpg

In small groups, we will dissect selected examples of television, movie, music, online and print media. After groups share their analyses, we will then explore how this mythology is connected to urban renewal and displacement.

We are excited by the expertise YOU, as a long-time or newer DC resident, can bring to this conversation. We hope to see you there! For more information on the "From the Streets to the Rooftops" community learning series, click here!
