Elevating Residents: Housing Justice Direct Action
Join us for a peaceful, high-impact protest during the District of Columbia Council’s Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting to demand housing justice and accessibility! Led by the Homes for All DC (HFA DC) Committee at ONE DC, this action will confront DC officials on ADA violations, specifically the lack of elevator access in buildings managed by NOVO Property Management.
We will occupy all elevators in the Wilson Building during this busy legislative session, bringing attention to what it feels like for tenants who have been without elevator access for extended periods. This action is a direct reminder to DC officials of the urgency of ADA compliance and what even a short disruption in accessibility can mean for disabled and elderly residents.
Why You Should Join:
- Tenants: If you’ve experienced housing non-compliance, this is your moment to be heard.
- Allies: Your support amplifies our call for justice and accessible housing for all.
- Officials and Property Managers: It’s time for accountability and change.
