ONE DC invites you to engage with us in a community learning conversation about displacement and development, as well as organizing and resistance, and how we are organizing for racial and economic equity in DC.
Long-time DC residents and organizers with ONE DC will show you the physical side of gentrification in the Shaw neighborhood and discuss its effects on the community, along with stories of how ONE DC organizes with residents to stand up for community-led, equitable development. Participants will have the opportunity to raise and discuss questions together, as well as tie learned experience to the Shaw story and context.
Participants will walk a little less than 1 mile total in the Shaw area. Depending on questions and reflections, tour lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Please arrive by 5:45 at 614 S St NW. The tour will start promptly at 6:00 PM!
In order to support a ONE DC sustained by its members and supporters, we are requesting a free will offering of $10 to $25 per person. Click here to make a donation. You can also bring cash or check the day of the tour. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at [email protected].
