The Right to Housing Committee will be holding a special outreach day instead of our normal committee meeting. The Right to Housing Committee has been holding a series of pop ed trainings on the various types of outreach including phone banking, street canvassing and door-knocking.
In an effort to practice the skills we have learned, we invite you to join ONE DC staff and member-leaders in a door-knocking day at the Franklin to help build popular awareness around our campaigns so that we can build popular power and ultimately pressure politicians to pass out Cancel Rent legislation.
WHAT WE DO
We are focused on building up popular awareness, will, and power to pressure the DC City Council to support and pass cancel rent legislation and funding.
We are organizing, educating, and providing a direct avenue for working class Black DC tenants who are unable to pay rent because of COVID-19 to work on the Cancel Rent campaign.
The most impacted must lead! Join us in recruiting low-wage, longtime DC residents to be part of our committee and fight for our right to stay in the District and cancel the rent!
Join us and help take back tenant power in D.C.!
