In commemoration of the observance of Juneteenth, ONE DC is partnering with Serve Your City and the Poor People's Campaign to hold a Juneteenth community learning event on the evening of Wednesday June 22. Historian C.R. Gibbs, a Howard University graduate, DC Humanities Council Scholar, national and international lecturer, and author/co-author of six books will be a featured speaker at the event, presenting on the history and significance of Juneteenth. The event will additionally include musical and spoken-word poetry performances. (RSVP below!)
