A Time Machine Gathering for the People

We're gathering again for our HFA DC Circle, and this one hit different. It's Black August, a time that carries the spirit of liberation, resistance, and deep reflection. This month, we're bringing that energy into the room like a time machine lifting lessons from the past to guide the moves we're making right now.

This space is bigger than the landlord-tenant struggle. It's about remembering that our Tenant Associations are more than reactions, they're vessels for transformation. We're organizing to win, but we're also organizing to heal, to build trust, and to grow leadership from the inside out.

We'll be sharing vision and strategy to support our TAs in moving campaigns forward. From defining clear roles, to acknowledging burnout and fear at the door, to exploring what it really means to build community power, we're going deep. We'll also uplift how collective bargaining can be a milestone, not just a dream, and how every building-level win matters.

And of course, we're gathering at the Black Workers & Wellness Center, our space, owned by us, for us. A place where we don't have to shrink or explain. Where we can breathe, connect, and get free.

We'll have free childcare and transportation, so bring your babies, your neighbors, and your full self.
