Focus Group: DC Streetcar and interneighborhood relationships

benning.jpg

I am a Georgetown University student writing a thesis about how transportation and social cohesion are related to social justice in Washington, DC. I will be conducting focus groups in Benning and Georgetown in order to examine how the new streetcar system will affect relationships across neighborhoods. I would like to invite you to participate in this study.

One focus group will occur in Benning on Sunday, February 22nd from 2:30pm to 3:45pm at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Library in Small Room #2. The second will occur in Georgetown on Saturday, February 28th from 3:30pm to 4:45pm at the Georgetown Library (at Book Hill on R Street).

Please share your thoughts about 1) how residents from Benning and Georgetown engage with one another and 2) what you think about the new DC Streetcar lines that will connect your neighborhoods. I hope to select candidates from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, so I am interested in hearing from you regardless of your views and experience.

Participants will not be reimbursed for their involvement in the study, but they will be sharing data that could be later used to improve their communities. You will have the opportunity to help out a Georgetown student hoping to conduct research that will be useful to people living in DC.

Please contact me at [email protected] or by phone at (732) 513-0772 if you are interested in participating in the study, or if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Peace,
