Black Workers Center Meeting

What is a Black Workers Center?

There are countless ways to envision a Black Workers Center (BWC). Because of the staggering economic difficulties that black workers face, we need them to raise their voice, share their stories, and help mold the vision and goals of what a BWC in DC needs to be. To overcome chronic black unemployment and underemployment, we must talk about how race & work intersect while creating spaces where black workers and their allies can create their own opportunities for training, employment, and worker ownership.

We need long-time DC residents. We need long-term unemployed and underemployed workers. We need single parents and returning citizens. We need you. That being said, all are welcome regardless of race to help build the movement for creating a BWC in Washington, DC.
