ONE DC invites you to engage with them in a conversation and community learning process about displacement and resistance in DC, and the potential for more equitable development.
Longtime DC resident and organizers with ONE DC will show you the physical side of gentrification in the Shaw neighborhood and discuss its effects on the community, along with stories of how ONE DC organizes residents to stand up for community-led, equitable development. Participants will have the opportunity to raise and discuss questions together, as well as tie learned experience to the Shaw story and context.
Participants will walk a little less than 1 mile total. Depending on questions and reflections, tour lasts about 1-1 1/2 hour.
In order to support ONE DC becoming an independent organization sustained by its members and supporters, we are requesting a free will offering of $10-$25 per person. If you would like to pay by cash or check on the day of the tour, or have any additional questions, please contact Dominic at [email protected] or Claire at [email protected].
