ONE DC practices our shared leadership model by self-management by committee. Admin & Organizational Management is one of three committees that make up ONE DC's work (others are Resource Development; Organizing & Member Development). We are actively recruiting ONE DC members to join the Admin committee to support the following:

    • Annual report design
    • Writing for website, email blasts, and monthly enewsletter
    • Website design & maintenance
    • Social media strategy & posting
    • Maintaining member & donor database
    • Planning membership events & member development
    • and more!

Admin Committee meets monthly to identify what tasks need to be completed that month, assign tasks to members, & discuss long-term committee strategy. If you are interested in working on or learning about any of the above tasks, please join us for our next meeting!

  • ONE DC Member Appreciation Event

Member Appreciation is our annual end-of-year event to celebrate the wins, actions, and accomplishments of our members, donors, supporters, & volunteers. All ages welcome. There will be music, food, speakers, and a special awards ceremony. Long-time members and new supporters are welcome!

  • Happy Hour Fundraiser

Come out to support ONE DC's work at a fun and lively night at Madam's Organ! $1 from any drink or food item will go toward ONE DC! Listen to live music while helping us create and preserve racial and economic equity in DC.

You can also support by purchasing ONE DC t-shirts, hoodies, and tote bags; enter to win a raffle; and connect with fellow ONE DC members & supporters. Through our People's Platform, we are building a movement of low-income and working class DC residents of color and people who share our values and vision. We seek to organize, educate, fight for and win truly affordable housing, sustaining work, and wellness for all in DC. We envision a DC that is equitable and just place to live for all of its residents. We demand that the District of Columbia become accountable to the needs of its residents, not developers and corporations, and not just the 1%.

The Thursday’s Nonprofits Profit at Madam’s Organ fundraiser program began in 2005 as a way for Madam’s Organ to help local nonprofits raise money and awareness for their causes.
