  • Right to Housing Committee Meeting

    IMG_1410.JPG

ONE DC's Right to Housing committee supports long-time DC residents to fight against displacement and for safe and affordable housing. At ONE DC, we believe in the universal right to housing and land, regardless of income or wealth. We are made up of ONE DC members, staff, and new volunteers, and are responsible for directing and executing ONE DC's housing campaigns. Join us in building power across the District to achieve community control over land and housing.

Join us every other Thursday at 6:30 PM at the Shaw office--614 S St NW-- to strategize, create and share popular and political education, conduct outreach to the community and take bold direct actions to build and secure community controlled alternatives like limited equity co-op housing and community land trusts. Food is served and all ages are welcome!

  • Admin & Member Engagement Meeting

ONE DC is a grassroots community organizing group that builds power with working class people of color in DC for our rights to housing, income, and wellness. In order to build successful and powerful campaigns and programs, we also need people who act as the "glue" of the organization -- who hold us together and move things behind-the-scene.

Are you the kind of person who...

    • Organizes your family reunions and holiday dinners?
    • Thinks creatively about how to raise money and save money?
    • Knows everybody and their mama?
    • Gets excited about spreadsheets?
    • Can't stop liking, tagging, & sharing?

if you answered yes to any of these, then Admin & Member Engagement is the place for you!

Admin & Member Engagement is a member-based committee that falls under ONE DC's Admin & Organizational Management Committee. This committee is made up of ONE DC members, staff, and new volunteers, and is responsible for organizing administrative support for the organization as a whole, such as our communications, website, social media, grassroots fundraising, event logistical support, and other needs for ONE DC organizing campaigns and programs. It is a space where ONE DC members and supporters, both new and long-time, can learn more about ONE DC, find out what’s upcoming, and engage in the real, everyday work of the organization.

We meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 at the ONE DC Black Workers & Wellness Center, 2500 MLK Jr Ave SE. Food is served and all ages are welcome!
