The 2008 Kressley Organizing Institute
Friday, 29 February 2008 00:00

The Kressley Organizing Institute will feature two tracks this year. The first is aimed at those who are currently organizing, new to organizing, or who are thinking about entering the field. Sessions will be designed to cover the basics of organizing, from door-knocking to how to do one-on-ones to campaign planning and strategy development. There will also be sessions on organizing theory, including exploration of various topics related to culture, organizing models, and systemic and structural oppression. The second track is designed for experienced organizers who want to strengthen their skills and deepen their analysis. Sessions will utilize peer-to-peer learning, popular education, and field experience. Participants in the advanced track will share strategies and experiences, explore best practices and models, and further develop their practical skills and theoretical framework. For those applicants interested in the advanced track, submit an additional narrative.

MOSAICA & the Highlander Research & Education Center will be active partners in the development and implementation of Technical Assistance to participants.
